Rtl text aligned right and ltr text aligned to left in one line - HOW?

    Hello,

i need to format a dictionary for layout. The first language of the dictionary is LTR and the second one is a RTL language. Now i have seen in other dictionaries that they have managed to align the LTR language to left and the RTL language to the right side in the same line. I need to do that as well. I am uploading an example file, where the RTL text starts with °° and ends with °°°.

Example of my current data: (see attachment for more details)

    abats n.m.pl.
    abat-son (pl. ~-~s).
    abattage n.m.
    abattement n.m.
    abatteur n.m.
abattis n.m.pl.
    abattoir n.m.

I found some examples which suggest that it is possible what i want to do. The question is: how to?

Make sure your ruler is displayed for your document. Click in the far right edge of the white area of the ruler to create a tab stop. Double click on the tab stop and change its alignment to 'Right'.
Now, on a new line, type your LTR text, then hit tab and type your RTL text.

Dear Pauleyb, thank you very much for your answer.
I couldn't apply what you have suggested. I will keep trying it.
Is it possible that you apply the changes into the file i have uploaded to this thread and then upload it again? The original file has over 1500 pages. So if an automated solution is possible, it will save my life.

I am uploading the first three pages of my real file, for the case some one has an idea of automated solution for it.

    thanks

Not sure what you are encountering. Are you able to see the ruler? When I opened your document, there were many tab stops for each line. I don't know if you added them or something else, but I removed them. The columns added a bit more complexity. Here is a document with my tab edits. Not quite sure it fully meets your needs, but hopefully it gets you in the right direction.

Ok i got it now. I can now put a right tab stop and then align the rtl language text to right. It works.
Is there a way through which i can put right tab stops for rtl language in whole document? Or do i have to repeat puting right tab stop for each meaning? I have over 41000 lines :-(

When you create a new line, it SHOULD copy the tabs from the previous line. I just tried it and it does (I typed in the document I sent you until it needed to add a third page. That third page had the same tabbing and columns as the previous page (the vertical bar in the page only appears when you have text in the second column). So, you type the LTR text, then hit tab and type the RTL text.
