Hi, a macro is VBA and VBA is the macro language.
Could you explain yourself a little more and the title 'scroll text' is very vague

May the (vba) code be with you... if it isn't; start debugging!

hi keebellah
what I want to achieve is have a text box and for the text inside to scroll up, as soon as the document is opened the text starts scrolling, that's what I meant by vba, rather than put the vba in a macro and a button has to be called to call the macro, hope this explains a bit better what I want to do

No not really, vba does not imply a button, you can activate it i many ways, but the scrolling and textbox,
Attach a sample file with the said textbox and the text and then what do you mean by scrolling, up, down, left, right or like one of those ticker tapes?
Like I said it's still vague.
Don't expect someone else to try to think what you are thinking and think something up that he thinks might be what you are thinking.
Assumptions are killing
thanks keebellah
you just messed up my thinking lol,
I will send a file tomorrow and hopefully it will explain it more, I do appreciate your posts back and understand the frustrations, when things are not explained correctly.

Have you tried scrolling text in a textbox manually? If not I suggest you try that; maybe then you'll see what the difficulty is.

@macropod: that's just it, you cannot ASSUME it's a vertical scroll and yes, it is difficult, but, let the OP explain it, then the brain work can begin,
My post made no assumption about the scroll direction (the only one to ASSUME so seems to be you) and, as for 'difficult', just try doing it any direction manually in a Word text box (this is the Word forum, after all)...
I stand corrected for my assumption, I rest my case
I had checked the 0 replies and AASUMEd it was Excel, that's for not checking where it was posted and the "extended" and "descriptive" post title.
I'll forget about this one
Been there, done that!!
