    Font style & Font size not displaying when I select in the word doc

    Hi all,
    Hope all is good.

    Note: The content which is there in the attached word document is just an example for my explanation purpose which I have copied from one of the book and not for any other purpose.

    Can anyone please help me with one the problem which I have stated below ?

    This seems to be a simple problem but I am stuck with this. Kindly help me.

    The text style which is there in the attached word document is "Times New Roman" with Font size value as "10".
    But when I select the entire text (using "ctrl+A"), the font style will be empty so as the Font size.
    EVen though I select manually, its not displaying anything.

    I need the entire document to be displayed with Font style as "Times New Roman" and Font size value "10".

    I have some 400-450 pages in my word document. The attached 2 pages in this word document are from one of those pages as a sample.

    Can anyone please tell me what is the problem and how do I correct it?

    Correct, the font style and font size boxes are "empty" after selecting Ctrl + A, but you should still be able to click the dropdown and select the font style and size you want. I was able to with the sample doc you provided.

    Hi Tom,

    Thanks for the response.

    I am using MS-office 2016 and in MS office office 16, even though I select (Ctrl+A) any font style from the dropdown list (As you have mentioned), yet its showing blank.
    Any alternate solution which I can do to display the Font style and size ?

    The behaviour is normal, but it doesn't prevent you changing any of the formatting.

    What is there to elaborate? Select the content, then do whatever you want with it. The mere fact certain attributes aren't displayed is of no consequence.

    Thanks for the quick response.

    I have already tried selecting the entire content from my document that is attached. Yet its displaying "empty" in Font style and Font size.
    I mean "Ctrl+A" and select the font "Times New Roman" with Font size "10".

    Kindly pay attention to what you have been advised; simply saying the same thing over and over doesn't change anything - so don't expect the advice to change.

    I think what OP is saying is that after selecting all (Ctrl + A) and clicking the dropdown for the font type and size, it is still blank.

    @raju.r.083 - have you tried manually typing in the font type and size? Another way to try is - after selecting all (Ctrl + A) right click in the highlighted area of the document then select Font from the pop-up then select the type and size.

    The dropdown entries will all be there - all he need do is open it... After making a choice, though, the font will update and the dropdown will revert to blank. The dropdown's inactive state is of no consequence.

    That's what I [thought] my instructions to OP in my 1st post was saying.
    I took OP's response

    to mean that even when they clicked the dropdown as I suggested, it was still blank so there were not fonts for the to choose from. I could be totally wrong though.

    The original document has two fonts: Calibri & Times New Roman. So, select all cannot display the current font in the dropdown. When I do "select all", change the font to Georgia, save and reopen, then "select all" again, it does show Georgia and the chosen point size.

    sorry for necro :p
    I had to delete the empty lines as some where keeping a different font/style than the one I was assigning to everything, even when I Ctrl+A and submitted the Font/size/style changes. After I did this, and re-integrated the empty lines where I needed them, word would display that all selected text was using the same font.
    Hope this helps the next person.
