Lock size of header in Word 2013

    Hello everyone,

I am assigned to making templates for often sent letters in the company.

Information on these templates is pulled from an administration program we use.

The problem is the we use pre-printed paper with our contact information etc.

I have made a header in which the name and adress of a customer is displayed. But when the name or adress is longer then normal, the header size grows with one line. (while I already left extra linesat the bottom of the header).
This results in the greeting line (under the header) also dropping one line. I don't want this.

Is there a way to lock the size of the header? I know I can protect the header from being changed, but I want just the size to be protected.

    Can anyone help with this?

    Kind regards,
    Tom

Re: Lock size of header in Word 2013

You could put the variable header content into a single-cell table with a fixed row height. That way, regardless of how many/few lines of data you have there, the content below the variable header content will always be in the same place,

To create a single-cell table with a fixed height, use Insert|Table and choose one cell. Then, set the exact row height under Table Tools>Layout>Properties>Row>Specify Height>Exactly.
You might also want to set the cell margins to 0 all round.
