How do I add file name characters to dictionary?

I'm working on a user guide which contains a ton of file and folder names with an underscore ( _ ) or path with \.

For example, file_name_sample.dat or C:\FolderA\FolderB\filename.xlsx. Or worse, C:\FolderA\FolderB\file_name_here.xlsx

How do I add these to the dictionary so every single one isn't highlighted in spell check? I tried adding *_* but it didn't work.

Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Go to File->Options->Proofing and tick "Ignore Internet and file addresses". It will not capture file names and folder path in spell check.

Thanks for your input CK76, but that's not solving my problem...it's already checked. Not only for file paths, but I'm also using sql database queries.

These are taken directly from my document and all are underlines by spell check:

    date_format, extract_by_file_id_flag, field_delimiter, include_header_row_flag, include_metadata_flag,

There isn't good way to ignore all words including underscore.

One workaround, is to always follow underscore with number. Then when you are finished with the document, replace "_#" pattern with underscore and check "Hide spelling errors in this document".

Personally, I'd just use RegEx pattern matching to extract words that include underscore, and write to text file. Then change extension to .dic and import it as custom dictionary. If this is constant issue.

Or use a custom Style for the content concerned, with the Style language set to 'no proofing'.
