You could use a text box form field in the cell and limit the number of characters in it. You'd then need to 'Restrict Editing' - and you'd need to put form fields everywhere else you wanted to allow users to fill in, which might make this impractical.

If you use commas as your decimal separator (1,23 instead of 1.23) then please replace commas with semi-colons in your formulae.
