Replacing accented and non-standard characters with non accented equivalents with VBA

I'm trying to avoid random non-standard symbols being generated when I copy Word text onto plain text. It seems to be mostly caused by accented words not surviving the transport.

For this reason I'm trying to find a VBA solution to run on the text in Word to replace accented characters with non accented equivalents.

For example

S'il vous plaît

would become

S'il vous plait

and so on.

I appreciate this can be done one-by-one with a long-winded search and replace VBA , but I'm hoping someone can advise on a neater and smarter solution.
