MS Word 365 Formula and Text Box

Hi, I wanted to add a text box to my word document for the year and a button to refresh the values so after the year is input into the textbox, then based on the year input, I want the value of several inventory items to update by calculating the their base value x3% per year starting at the year 2000, or -3% per year below 2K. The formula part is not so important, I can figure that out on my own later, I just need to know how to get started. I know this is normally an Excel job, but believe me, this is a Word document with only a small section displaying these numbers. This would be so easy in Excel, but with Word, it's my first attempt doing something like this. I literally stuck right from the start without a clue how to proceed. I'm guessing the "Formula" function, but I really don't know...

You can do calculations in a Word table. Have a look here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/...d-b2cb2c4f3e27
As noted on that page, but perhaps not stressed enough, the formulae answers will only update when you refresh the fields - so your button to refresh would probably just need to do that.

I don't know if it's possible to put a table into a text box - I've never tried - but you could just use a table instead of a text box and change its wrap options if you want it to be embedded in other text somehow.

I recently started a new job so am a bit busy and may not reply quickly. Sorry - it's not personal - I will reply eventually.
If your problem is solved, please go to 'Thread Tools' above your first post and 'Mark this Thread as Solved'.
If you use commas as your decimal separator (1,23 instead of 1.23) then please replace commas with semi-colons in your formulae.
You don't need to give me rep if I helped, but a thank-you is nice.

Unfortunately, it seems the formula I need from Excel are not present in Word, ex:

See attachment. It is an Excel example of what I need in Word. My Word Doc is pw protected, yet I'll somehow need a single cell or text box to be unprotected, and the cells to calculate the formula of annual compound interest. I guess I'll either need a Micro, or will have to skip this.
