    Mail Merge From Excel

    Hi,

I have an Excel file (attached) which I need to mail merge to Word.

I have Students A to H that I need to mail merge into separate letter documents with 4 statements per student.

The statements are all in row 1 of the spreadsheet and each row below row 1 shows me (by use of an X) which 4 statements are to be allocated to each student.

Is this spreadsheet format possible for a mail merge?

Many thanks for looking at this problem I have.

    Regards,

you can mail merge from anything. take a look at the attached archive as an example. but this uses ms access, not excel. doesn't matter though. same concept applies.

If you are still looking, search the Web for "Charles Kenyon". He has great tips and vast knowledge of MailMerge/MsWord - Also look for Paul Epstein ( aka macropod)

You can do this with a very simple mailmerge using your Excel workbook as attached.

    Re: Mail Merge From Excel

Hmm, a rule that, as worded, is generally ignored - as a search on any of the potentially 'competing' forum names will soon reveal. For example:
    MS Answers - 6841 threads
    mrexcel - 8451 threads
    msofficeforums - 319 threads
    stackoverflow - 1734 threads
    tek-tips - 7780 threads
    vbaexpress - 1711 threads

Or maybe they're considered as complimentary rather than as competing...

The thing is, I got a warning for violating that rule some time ago
