    Inserting files as distinct documents

I have a group of 40 documents which I am trying to insert into a new document so that they merge in order into the one large document.

I can do this using insert > file , but it's not working how I need. Presently , with this method each added file is merged into the new document immediately beneath the previous one , usually mid-page.

What I'm trying to do is to merge them into one document so that each file acts as a new chapter and starts on a new page of its own.

Can someone advise on if there is a way to do this?

why not press Ctrl+Enter below every inserted document to get the pointer to the next page for the new insertion point?

Thanks for getting back. Yes , I can see that would work. I know there are manual ways of doing this , but I was hoping an automated solution , perhaps via VBA could be found.

most things that can be done through the menus can be done with code. run a macro recorder in word and see what code you get by manually inserting an picture in and then going to the new page like I said, using the keyboard. that'll show you exactly how to automate it.
