    Heading Theme First Part Bold

    Hello,

Is it possible to modify a Heading theme so that the text looks like this below:

Purpose: To established a system for quality control
Responsibility: Quality Control Manager, Manufacturing Manager

Notice that the first word before the colon is in bold text but the text after is not bold.

Thank you for your help or suggestions

Go to the Layout panel in the Ribbon, click Print Titles
    Click the Header/footer tab
    Click Custom Header
Type in the header text in the left/center/right section
Select the text you want to be bold
    Click the Font button ("A")

    Select BoldCapture.JPG

If this is for run-in headings in Word, then, with the formatting display switched on:
Select the space after 'Purpose:' and press the «Enter» key, so that you get:
    Purpose:¶
To established a system for quality control¶
Then click on 'Purpose' and press Ctrl-Alt-Enter, so that you get:
Purpose:¶ To established a system for quality control¶
You can now format 'Purpose:' in one paragraph Style (e.g. Heading 1) and ' To established a system for quality control' in another paragraph Style (e.g. Normal).
Using Ctrl-Alt-Enter converts the paragraph break at the end of the current paragraph into what is known as a Style Separator. This is only available on PCs - on Macs you'd need to use an ordinary paragraph break and format it as hidden text.

You do this via the paperclip symbol on the 'Go Advanced' tab at the bottom of this screen.

You can, but keep in mind you are using two Styles, each of which can be added to the Styles Gallery. What you can't add to the Styles Gallery is the Style Separator or something that says to combine the two Styles separated by a Style Separator..

You can just choose the needed part of text and press Ctrl+B

Not for run-in headings, you can't, since the whole lot would still appear in the Table of Contents. In any event, the OP was looking for a Style-based solution, and the desired outcome cannot be achieved via a Style definition.
