    Changed Lines Indicator

    Hi All,

When making changes to a document, it's possible, with "track changes" to display a vertical line alongside any changes. I would like, if possible, for those lines to remain visible when printed, without any other mark up (such as deletions or insertions) displayed.

Any guidance is appreciated - thanks in advance.

If you want to print a document with the "track changes" vertical lines visible without any other markups, you can try the following steps:
    • Open the document that you want to print.
    • Click on the "Review" tab in the ribbon.
    • In the "Tracking" section, click on the arrow next to "Show Markup."
    • Deselect all options except "Comments" and "Formatting."
    • Click on "Print" or press Ctrl+P to open the print dialog box.
    • Under "Settings," select "Print All Pages."
    • Under "Print What," select "Document" or "Document (with markup)" depending on your preference.
    • Click on "Print" to print the document.
    • By deselecting all the options except "Comments" and "Formatting," you will only see the vertical lines indicating changes without any other markup. You can then choose to print the document with or without the markup by selecting the appropriate option under "Print What."

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

The types of revisions that display and how they present are both customizable. Revisions that you select to display as balloons appear in the document's margins. If you decide to put them right there in the document, line. All deletions are shown with a strikethrough in line changes rather than inside balloons.

Select Track > Show Markup from the Review tab.

Choose Balloons, then the display kind you desire.

    Display changes in balloons

    Show Every Change Inline

    Show Only Balloon Formatting

Hi Jeff, I'm no longer seeing the option to mark as solved. Am I doing something wrong?

Your attachment was invalid for some reason.

Do you have a Thread Tools dropdown just above your first post? If so, does it have a "Mark this thread as solved" option?

That sounds like a bug. I am going to leave your thread unsolved and report it to the tech folks for checking out.
