    Linking Excel to Word

    Hello,

When linking excel data to word is there a difference between:

    a) Clicking paste special and selecting paste link Microsoft office excel worksheet object.
    b) Clicking paste and on paste options selecting keep source formatting and link to excel.

From doing a few tests if I use method A the excel formatting of the table gets messed up where as using method B the excel formatting stays intact. I'm using excel and word 2007.

    Thanks

    Ant

Quite obviously the answer, then, is yes. Using paste special with paste link gives you a number of paste format options, not only 'Microsoft office excel worksheet object'. I suspect you're not choosing the most appropriate option for your needs there.
