Centering multilevel numbering list with text below

i having problem in adjusting multilevel list numbering in word 2007.

i want to center a titled number with the following text under it, it something like this:

[Chapter XXX] -----> this is the auto numbering list, with centered postion

general provisions ------> this text, set below the numbering list, also centered

i've been trying to modify it from left and center with no avail, since when it works for one chapter the other chapter is not positioned at the center..

    i attach also my document.

    thanks before for your help.

    attach:
    example.docx

Use you Tab settings or Indentation settings to adjust these. Proper use of Tabs and First Line Indent, Hanging Indent and Left Indent can place any data anywhere on a line. Please do not use 'Space' to create the line up you seek. It can be done quickly and neatly as I have mentioned.

Remember the Tab settings also have Right aligned, Left aligned, Centered, To the Decimal point etc. etc.

    Cheers,

I have opened your example but not sure what you want to do? The layout looks fine, so what do you want to center.

    You mention:
[Chapter XXX] -----> this is the auto numbering list, with centered postion

general provisions ------> this text, set below the numbering list, also centered

But please use an example from the document you uploaded (example) and state what you want changed and how you want it to look. By the way you did will with the Table of Contents but why did you insert a Section Break at the end of the first page and not just a simple page break?

    Cheers

Thanx fir your response ursul, its been a long time since i asked this question, what i mean is that when i done with the first numbering, when it gets the second, e.g. chapter 2 : technical spec, the positions goes weird because i set the tab and indentation that works fine with the first but failed to do so for the second.. not to mention the sub-chapters..

Hi there, good to hear from you too.

So there are some Indentation issues with your document. I have tried to explain these in the attached document " Formatting Issues", plus I have also attached a corrected sample of the original document which I have called "Formatting Problem".

Cheers and I trust this all makes sense to you.
