Mail Merge Wizard - Step 4

Hello,

Does anyone know if it is possible to keep the Insert Merge Field window displayed when using Step 4 of the Mail Merge Wizard which is the 'Write Your Letter' step?

If you are inserting a number of fields into the document it appears you have to cancel the window to reposition your cursor, and then click on the 'more fields' link to redisplay the field list.

When you have a number of fields to add to the document this can be a bit frustrating!

Am I missing something?

Not possible. However, you could simply insert all the fields you want in one go, dismiss the dialogue, then drag the fields to where you want them.

Another option is under the mailings tab, there is an insert merge field drop down list and you can enter the fields you want to use that way. It's a lot easier to do it this way because you can type your letter and insert the fields as you type.

That really isn't an improvement, since it has the same issue: you can't keep the dialogue box open when you click back on the document to select a different destination for the next mergefield you want to insert.
