    Need to record/write ALT+SHIFT+X into a macro!

    Hi --

The title pretty much says it all I guess. I have a very good thesaurus program that responds to the hotkey 'ALT+SHIFT+X'. I want to use it in conjunction with Word. To do so, I need a macro that simply a) copies the word I have selected, and then b) presses 'ALT+SHIFT+X'. That will get it into the thesaurus program. Basically, I'm trying to avoid having to press two separate key combinations to first copy the word, then send it to the program.

Simply recording a macro copies the word just fine, but doesn't recognize the 'ALT+SHIFT+X' keystroke. I've tried programming it directly using SendKeys, but that's not working out either -- perhaps I'm doing it wrong.

    Can anybody help?

    Thanks.

    Lori S.

Thanks, Alan, that did it. Funny thing is, I feel like I tried the correct combination among the 101 ways tried to write that line of code -- but obviously, I must not have! The problem was exacerbated by choosing the wrong hotkey to invoke the macro. I used Ctrl-Shift-T. Word said it was currently unused. But it erased the word selected every time, so it must hook up to something else, and for whatever reason, Word's not letting me override that prior hotkey -- just making it look like I have.

Thanks again for the ref to the page with the instant fix.

    Lori.
