Help with Word Document

I am new to using VBA in word and I am having some issues.

1. I have a letter where I am trying to populate the salutation (first name) from a list in excel. How do I get my cursor to a specific spot on the word document to write the name of the person?

Date




Salutation

Body of Letter


2. also i get an error whenever I try to use a property/method that begins with "wd." such as "wdunits"

Many members search our previous posts, and thread titles play a big part of the search. I doubt anybody would do a search based on your title?
