Macro to Undertake Data Validation

Hi,

I've been asked if it's possible to add data validation into a Word doc. They have two fields that they would like validating (one numeric and one a date). Dr Google informs me that this is only possible with VBA. Would someone be able to mock up a sample of how this works? If it helps, I've attached a basic template which gives the criteria and text fields to populate.
