Indexes and Concordances, oh my !!

Scenerio: I must create a "word" index for multiple documents each week. I foresee a time when I'll have to do this with no less than 5 large documents on a daily basis. Eventually I would like to show page:line for each occurrence of a word. I have tried a couple of scripts already. I am much better with Excel than Word and this has me stumped.

The following script is what I have been using to acquire distinct words:

Please Login or Register to view this content.
I can take this list, convert to a table, add a column, copy / paste, delete extra colum and I now have a concordance.
    ISSUES:
No exclusion list. I have tried multiple methods but have thus far failed.
I would like to declare a string such as this -

Please Login or Register to view this content.
And remove such words prior to printing to the new document. That would at least eliminate one step in my process.

I have found no examples of how I could capture the line number for the index.
The reason it this will eventually be necessary is that page:line is the standard for the courts.
Transcripts are 25 lines per page and have a min / max pitch number. Text is imported into a template for proper formatting before I even begin to run scrpts.

Clearly, your StrExcl variable has come from one of my concordance macros (e.g.https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...0-0bdb3832f3b0, https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Fo...?forum=worddev, https://www.techsupportforum.com/thr...t-them.639713/, & https://www.msofficeforums.com/31360-post2.html). It would be a trivial undertaking to enhance that code to output the line numbers as well. For example, with the version in the last link, you could simply change:
Please Login or Register to view this content.
    to:
Please Login or Register to view this content.
With the versions in the first two links, it's no more complicated than changing:
Please Login or Register to view this content.
    to:
Please Login or Register to view this content.
As I said, a trivial undertaking.

You're absolutely correct macropod. I also read the exchange between you and another fellow regarding the concordance and his desired format (same as mine).
The one I am currently using is by Mr. Wyatt, cut it has no exclusion list, which yours does and such is highly desireable.

And yes, I was hoping you would respond as your macro achieved most of what I was looking for.

I am certainly going to try your additional suggestions, once I can come up for air from my daily grind. Hopefully this afternoon.

And yeah, the "rules" are dictated by SCOTUS and then the states generally adopt those same rules. But, it does make the transcripts purdie.

@macropod - Sorry I have been in trial and haven't had the time to try your solution.

Re: Indexes and Concordances, oh my !!

I have tried both of these solutions and they work well. Many thanks.
My final question before closing this topic is one of formatting.

For the propose of clarity, I am going with the second solution.

My next issues are with respect to formatting.
I have found a manual method to achieve what I need, but desire to automate.

    1. The word count (and column) isn't necessary and would like to eliminate it.
    2. Printing the results in a single column with a tab (with leader) between the word(s) and the page:line list would be preferable.
    3. Printing the results (again in the fashion mentioned in number 2) onto a 3 column page would automate the process.

Going to play around with your code, but any assistance would be appreciated.
