how to create macros in word

    Hi
    I’m using Microsoft 2010

In excel I use the following macro to find today’s date
    HTML Code:
I’m sort of ok adjusting macos to fit my needs, but no good at all starting from scratch

How do I change it to use it in Microsoft Word?

Once I see what has to be changed, I can adjust my excel macros (or come back for help)

I’m thinking of having each report on one page and have the cursor go to the current date and then down to the last line to continue. It would be easier to scroll up to see other days than to open different books.

Finding a date in Word depends on how it is formatted, or whether it's part of a DATE field (amongst others). There is no direct equivalent to your Excel macro. Just a demo:

The code in Word is more complex partly because it is also much more flexible (eg you could specify that the date has to be in a particular font, point size, italics, etc.).

As an analogy, in Word it's equivalent to looking for a string in Excel that just happens to be a date (eg a date that's only part of the contents of a cell).
