Pivot table - Calculated field for the data in rows.

    Hello,

Is there a way to apply a formula for the data within rows?

    For example:
    Year Visits
    2015 10000
    2016 20000

Now, i would like to calculate the variance between these two numbers. Can someone please tell me if this is doable in Excel pivot table?

    Thanks

    Hello,

assuming that the above sample is the pivot table, with visits being summed in the values area, you can drag the visits field to the values area again and then set it to Show Values As > Difference from > select the base item, in this case the smallest year. Do that again and calculate the variance percentage with % Difference from. See screenshot.

    Hi

I actually want the variance to show on the row 3.

    For example:
    Year Visits
    2015 10000
    2016 20000
    Var xxx%

    Is this possible?

    thanks

You must use calculated item for this. Create new item as ('2016'-'2015')/'2015'
