Multiple Notification Issue.

Hello People,

I think this site has it in for me!

Yesterday, I participated in a thread with AlphaFrog then left it to AlphaFrog as I went to bed (need my beauty sleep!).
When I checked my emails this morning, there were twelve notifications from the thread. Fine, I felt popular. However, on checking, all notifications were exactly the same (from one post in the thread by AlphaFrog!). As I was deleting them, more from the same post came in!
This has happened before but they were only duplicated once. Has this been happening to anyone else?

Sorry to bother you again.

Cheerio,
vcoolio.

Re: Another Issue!

I have turned off email notifications, so I cant really say. I would have a full inbox in no time
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Regards

But that might not count. – they were most from different Threads, after the system Email Notification System “Flushed out” after one of its broken spells.
Be thankful the Email Notification has been working well recently – better too many than none, maybe ! Lol..

P.s. ( I think if someone edits a post, then you get a Notification per edit. That can be good, as you get to see his mistake ( or what the OP decided maybe not to let you see.. Lol... ) )

P.s. @ vcoolio
You might want to change your Thread title, just for fun, then others might give their record.. Lol..

Hi Alan,

That's an idea!

Does anyone have any ideas for a "catchy" title?

Re: Multiple Email Notification of Replies to subscribed Threads. All in one go! :)

Hi VC.,

As this is the Suggestions for Improvement Sub Forum, you should probably keep it fairly normal, as people with a problem come here for help.
So just use like the one I did or similar ( Multiple Email Notification of Replies to subscribed Threads )

The Water Cooler Sub Forum is more relaxed, for taking things less seriously, but there is often an overlap in these two Sub Forums. Important is that the title reflects the issue a bit.

(_.... There is a rule about that I think, but it is not so important as in the main Forums
http://www.excelforum.com/forum-rule...rum-rules.html
1. Use concise, accurate thread titles. Your post title should describe your problem, not your anticipated solution. Use terms appropriate to a Google search. Poor thread titles, like Please Help, Urgent, Need Help, Formula Problem, Code Problem, and Need Advice will be addressed according to the OP's experience in the forum: If you have less than 10 posts, expect (and respond to) a request to change your thread title. If you have 10 or more posts, expect your post to be locked, so you can start a new thread with an appropriate title.

To change the title of the thread, click EDIT on the original post, then click the Go Advanced button, then change the title. If two or more days have passed, the EDIT button will not appear, and you need to ask a moderator to change the title.

_......)

Re: Another Issue!

On a issue related to notifications.
For the last few days, I've been getting a pop-up saying that "ExcelForum would lie to send you notifications" with a Close and Allow button (powered by NotifyFox).

1) Why is there not a NO button.
2) I keep pressing Close, and it keeps popping up

If i wanted notifications sent, I'd change my notification options. How do I tell this forum "No don't send me notifications"?
_
...How to Cross-post politely...
..Wrap code by selecting the code and clicking the # or read this. Thank you.

@ mikerickson,
Hi mikerickson,
This was discussed a lot a couple of days ago in a Thread a couple of posts down here in the same Sub Forum:
http://www.excelforum.com/suggestion...indow-tab.html
_......

Apparently, these notification which you are asked to “Allow” to are something extra to the existing Notifications.
Also they seemed to think they had cured the problems... I note when I closed the pop up this morning, it no longer comes back up again. But I do note, however, that it is less than a week since I closed it the last time, contrary to the week it should apparently take! ?
So there may be some teething problems still... ( it would be very unlikely if there wasn’t, Lol...

@ VC.,
Hi VC.,
_. Please have a think about renaming the Thread, the current Title may have distracted mikerickson from the Thread more relevant to his Issue!

Thanks. I just now dismissed that pop-up again.

In general, I don't like pop-ups where "Allow us permission" vs. "Remind me later" are the only options, lacking a "No" option. (IMO, Google is particularly foul in this regard.)

Hi Mikerickson,

We have raised this concern to our higher Management and we will hear from our Management on this latest by Monday. However, as of now, we have revised the recurrence time from 5 days to 30 days as temp solution.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks,
Team Excel Forum
