    Combine Tables / Append

So I'm working on an Access db for a budget that will contain 5 large tables from different departments. So they all have the same structure. Call them Tables 1 thru 5, and they need to be uploaded to a table called Master. They are being imported from Excel but if one of them changes I will need to delete the Master table and re-append all of the data.

I've tried some of the append queries but can't seem to figure this one out.

How are you appending? In Access? or Excel before importing to Access? Have you attempted to append with Power Query? Some more information would help us to help you.

I'm uploading each file to an access table. I can copy each table and paste to the Master table but that seems a bit time consuming. As of now I haven't used PowerQuery except to reverse pivot the data.

Ok. I would suggest that you load each table into PQ and append them there. Very easy and quick. Then close and load back to native excel and if necessary for Access, you can load there.

    Re: Combine Tables / Append

Thanks Alansidman - I was hoping for something a little quicker. I ended up just doing an append query for each table and using VBA to kick them off.
