Hi,
I am learning to use access and am still a newbie (so forget the byline that says that I am forum guru... I stole that from one else ). Anyways, here is what I have done and I would like some advise.
Done:
* In Excel, I have created several subs that work together to compare strings in cells using Fuzzy logic. No real Excel formulas are used (only basic algebra). Everything is coded into Excel vba including userform controls, import options for text files, etc.
What I want to eventually accomplish:
* Create an Access database with an html interface that can be placed online to run these same procedures by my colleagues instead of them sending me their files or me giving them my Excel workbook.
My question is:
1) How difficult is it to convert most Excel vba projects to Access projects?
2) Can Access and Excel both be on the server where Access acts as the gateway while the work is done in Excel as usual?
3) I have read that I can publish an Access 2010 database on SharePoint. Is this the same SharePoint that comes with Office 2010 and allows me to share my files with colleagues like a dropbox?
4) What are the common pitfalls that I should be aware of?
All thoughts and comments are welcome. As I said, this is completely new territory for me.
