Intern needs help building a "search wizard" asap!

Hi everyone I'm new to the forum and was recommended by my supervisor at my new internship. I have compiled the necessary data and would like to create a form used to search through the database based on criteria such as: "common name," "scientific name," etc." I have started a navigation form with a subform containing the report with the appropriate data. Just to get started, I have added a "common name" text box and a "search" control button. I have begun building the macro from various online resources but I have hit a wall (as I am new to the world of programming.)
    -thanks everyone!

This may be an easier way.
