Using Bar Code Scanner with Data View table

I am using a bar-code scanner to enter information to an MS Access form all the time. The scanner is programmed to tab to the next field after reading the bar-code and works great on forms in a single form view. But when I using the same scanner to input to a form that has a subform with a data view table it will not tab after scanning. In fact you don't see the scanned entry until you manual click in the next field and then it shows.

I have the field set to autotab and as I mentioned the scanner is programmed to tab. Any help would be appreciated.
