    Comparing data in excel

    Hi everyone,

My company asked me to automate control of certain specifications of products, i would use conditional formatting in order to highlight data that are out of range.
but my issue is that first i have to check which product i'm dealing with and then compare this to a range of data,

    for ex:

    product A spec1 is between 1-10, spec 2 is between 20-30.
    product B spec1 is between 5-15, spec 2 is between 25-35.

if I enter the specs for product B is want to check if the specs are in range for product B, if not highlight them.
Does anyone have any ideas on how this can be done efficiently, because I'm dealing with about 20 products with each around 6 specifications.

    Thank you in advance

    Wes

It sounds like you'll have to use the last option in the conditional formatting dialog box (formulas) and maybe do some side calculations based on the selections.

Attaching a sample work will help us help you better.

Attach a sample workbook (not a picture or pasted copy). Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.
