    "Padding" numbers

Is there a way to format a column of numbers so that there is a fixed number of digits? For example, say I want 8 digits for every cell. If someone enters "4444", the format would automatically be "00004444".

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Where & how is the entry being made - Directly into the table, via a form

If via form do you just need the form view formated to display 8 digits or do you need the table field to be format to be set to 8 digits

Or is this an excel question & you posted your thread in thr wrong forum?
