How To Create Relationships

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to create a vacations database and need some help. I have created a employees table & vacation table. Emp table contains first & last name of emp and adding dept & leader as well. Vacations table will have the start date,end date, start time, end time , hours. I then need to create a form where users will go and enter the information and it will go to the appropriate table. Under relationships i put the join type as for all vac id show emp but it doesnt work the way i want it to. any suggestions?

I am a little confused by your statement about the relationship. It would be helpful if you listed the fields for each table, the primary keys and the foreign keys and which fields you are joining your two tables on.

doesn't tell me anything. How is it working? What do you want it to do? Some sample data would be helpful also. Otherwise we are trying to do mind reading here and your brainwaves are not getting across the border.

sorry.. i'll try to be more clearer.
For every employee there can be multiple vacation requests and those requests should roll up under that one person. The inputs are going through be through a form that comprises of both tables. When I am inputting data into the form it replaces the data that was there previously, it does not add another line. So for ex: my first request i do john then i do scott, scott's data replaces john.
