Chart Using Selected Data from Another Sheet

    Hi,

I have a class list on my "DataSheet" and in there I have test scores from a 10 week period for 30 children, so:

    Child 1 2, 5, 7, 8, 10, 8
    Child 2 5, 6, 7, 2, 6, 10

30 rows down and 11 columns across including the names.

I would like to be able to filter this data on a different worksheet so that I could pick one child and there data would appear on a line chart. So, if at the top of the next sheet I selected Child D, that would be the only data visible in the new sheet and it would populate the line chart on the same worksheet. Then when I changed the value to Child E, the chart would change again.

    I hope that makes sense!

    Thanks
    SBE

Hi SBE and welcome to the forum.

See the attached to see if it does what you want. It is a Pivot Chart that simply allows you to filter the data by the name.

That's pretty much what I was looking for! Not used PivotTables before but I'll have a go.

    Thank you.

Do I used a Pivot Table or Pivot Chart? Neither or my attempts look like yours

In 2010 you click anywhere in your data and then INSERT and do Pivot Chart. You can change the type of chart. You might also like to try the Slicer Tool on your data instead of filters.
