    Defining the axes by myself

    Hi,

I have a question that wether it is possible to define the axes of a chart in excell by myself or not?
For example I have the data from 0 to 50 but for these group of data I want to have a y-axis from -40 to 10.

    Thanks

Right click on Y-axis. Click "Format Axis" and change maximum and minimum from "auto" to desired values.

Maybe you are not clear in your example. If you change vertical axis range - you are NOT limited to range of the data in the table as that is covered by Auto function.
Try changing to "Fixed" maximum and minimum and see what happens.

Re: Defining the axes by myself

in that way my data will not shown on the graph!!!
Ok i give an example in an easier way. Imagin that I have 2, 4, 6, 8 for y column and 1,2,3,4 for x column. I draw a graph but for y-axis I dont want to have from 2 to 8! I want to draw it so that I write on the y-axis something else for example: red, green, blue, white. Is it possible?

This latter example suggests you are looking for something like Jon Peltier's Aribitrary axis technique: http://peltiertech.com/Excel/Charts/ArbitraryAxis.html
