I have a table in Excel as a data source for a pivot table. The table has a date field formatted as Month-YY (ex: Jun-14). I can't get the pivot table to sort by the data source. My data source is sorting in fiscal year order June thru May. My pivot table is sorting the months as Apr, Aug, Dec, Feb, etc.
Can someone help me with this? Thanks so much.
are they actual dates in the data or text - sounds like its text

It was text field at first and then I changed it to a formatted date field to display as MMM-YY but the pivot view didn't group it properly. How I can simply get the Pivot view to sort in the order of the data source? The data source is sorted as I want.

I finally got sorting to work using the grouping feature. I still would like to know how to sort a pivot view based on sortorder of data source. Seems that should be doable right?
