    Multiple Series Column Chart

I am trying to create a column chart that uses 3 different series titles but share the same horizontal values. For example I have a list of tickers from Bloomberg and each has a corresponding % change. What I have done is created a column chart with one series called MTD change and it lists each product on the horizontal axis with the % change as each column. Now I was wondering how I could format this so that all of the equity products are one color column all of the commodity products are a different color colum and the FX products a third color. so no matter what order the colums on the chart appear (I am listening them from lowest to highest change) the corresponding bar always matches the color of its group. I am trying to explain this the best I can, I hope it makes sense and someone can help me out. Thanks.

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

Your post isn't entirely clear (to me, anyway), so I suggest you:

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to open the upload window.

    multi series.xlsx

I have now attached the data and that I am using. You can see on the data tab that there is a list of Securities and the MTD change for each one. Then you can see that the securities are each part of a sector which is either equity, comdty, curncy, etc. So my question is how do I make my chart look like the second chart I attached(it is just a picture), where it coordinates the color of the bar to the sector that the bar belongs to. Hope this helps.
