text altering conditional formating

Hi All,

How can we make a conditional formatting that add an identification to a number if it meets certain criteria or multiple criteria?
It is related to significance testing, where I have t-test tables as follows:

Event CAAR t-test
(-1, 0) 2.60% 0.279
(-2, 0) 3.90% 0.418
(-3, 0) 5.44% 0.583
(-4, 0) 6.92% 0.742

and I want it to display as
Event CAAR t-test
(-1, 0) 2.60% 0.279
(-2, 0) 3.90% 0.418 c
(-3, 0) 5.44% 0.583 b
(-4, 0) 6.92% 0.742 a where a, b and c can only appear if the number is at a certain threshold or matches with a value in another

cell. or a,b, and c can be replaced bt *, ** or ***

the final result will look as in the attachment.Untitled.png

You cannot modify the contents of a cell with conditional formatting.
