Donut Chart with 2 data sets - Legend does not work

I don't think you can have different categories in the inside and outside rings. The idea of a multi-ring donut is to compare the same categories with sets of different values. That's why the legend only shows the categories of the first data set.

In any case, with that many data points, a donut or a pie are not the best visualisation. If you want glitz, fine. But if you want a useful chart, go for columns or bars.

Create one column or bar chart for Assets and another for Liabilities and put them side by side. That way, your reader can quickly eyeball each individual item's size. A donut wedge is much harder to judge and comparing the size of the first item on the outer ring with the sixth item of the inner ring will be near impossible.

Donuts are for people who don't understand good data visualisation.
