    Generating a Chart Report

    Hello,

I'm still a newbie messing around with Excel and would like to learn more. Basically what I'm wanting to do to the Spreadsheet I've attached is Generate a Chart by Department for total # of open positions vs total filled per department shown. I currently have a chart that I'm using but it's very basic and is basically calculating everything in a whole total, I'd like to break it down by Department. I don't necessarily need to have a Pie Graph but how can I do it the way I mentioned above?

If it's easier to make the change yourself, that's fine I can go in and dissect the change that was made and learn myself afterwards. Your help is greatly appreciated.

You will need more detailed data to chart from. I suggest summarising the vacancies by department above row 47 so that your total rows move down to become SUMs of the listed departments. You will then be able to chart the individual departments. I have atached a VERY rough sample.

BTW - It's important to remove people's names from the sample before uploading your attachment.

If you attach a sample of your workbook it will be easier to find a solution. Remember to remove/replace sensitive data before uploading the file. Look here if you need help with attachments:

Thanks for the help. That was an easy solution lol.

Also the names on there are just made up names for now. Helps me visualize better if I put some name rather than gibberish :-)
