Get grand average for multiple sets of values

    Hi all,

I just learned how to do this using a formula in the formulas part of this forum. But I want to know if/how this is done using a pivot table. I hope that is ok.

I have several blocks of data for which I would like to calculate an average. However, I only want rows of data to be used that meet a criteria. Please see the attached sample. I want to calculate one average for the values in v1 to v3, another for w1 to w3, and another for x1 to x3. But I want to know what those three averages are for when RR=a, RR=b, and RR=c. So I should end up with 9 average scores. Thanks.

I want to do this for calculating averages, but would also like to know how to do this for other calculations. Not just averages. Thanks.
