Hello - I tried to find an answer to this issue but was unable to find anything conclusive. I apologize if this is a repeat.
I have hefty pivot table that i have added slicers to it to make sorting easier for the users. But one of the issues I am running into is sorting a "date" column on the pivot table. I cannot sort it from either newest or oldest. Why is that? and is there a work around that you guys know of?
If using the Slicer to sort the dates, with the 'Date' Slicer selected, click on the 'Slicer Settings' option in the ribbon, from there you can sort in ascending or descending order.
If sorting using the PivotTable itself, then if Date is your first column, you should just be able to choose Sort in Ascending or Descending order from the Row Labels Drop Down on the PivotTable. If Date isn't your first column, then from the Row Labels Drop Down, select 'More Sort Options' and then from the dialogue window you can sort which ever columns you like in either Ascending or Descending order.
If you are still having problems, if you can upload a sample file we can take a look to see what the problem is.
