    Box plots using Excel data

My boss needs box plots to show the distribution and the frequency of the highs (time of admission). She uses SPSS but I wonder if I can get the same results in Excel.

    Please see attached data.

Thank you in advance for the help.

It's not clear to me exactly what quantities you want to show in the box plot, but box plots are fairly easy in Excel. I will refer to this tutorial rather than write my own: http://peltiertech.com/excel-box-and...ams-box-plots/

Hi, thank you. We want to show frequency of the high admissions by time of day by day of the week, if that's possible. I looked at the link you shared but I still cannot figure it out. Thank you.

Yeah, a few steps, because you've only got raw, and excel doesn't have box-and-whisker built in.

    1) Extract the statistical info from the data table using functions (I also used some arrayed formulas to grab it on a month filter)
    2) Drive from the info table to a chartbuilding table
    3) Stacked column chart with custom value error bars

    see attached.

Thank you Ben, this is too overwhelming for me! I will try to figure out how you did it.
