    Dynamically adjust slicer column number

Excel is very smart. Is it smart enough to dynamically adjust my Slicer column number when a new data point is added to the field's dataset? For example, each month I need to add a new column to my Slicer to account for the new month.

I will resort to VBA if I have to, but if this functionality isn't built in then I'm sort of amazed.

If the slicer references an Excel table, it should adjust automatically.

Re: Dynamically adjust slicer column number

Thanks! Does the size (width/height) of the slicer adjust as well to accommodate the new value?

In fact, I think that may have been my original question, but I'm too exhausted to think. I want the slicer not only to add the value but increase in width proportionately.

Wait, no my original question was right - the slicer does not adjust column count it only adds the value to the slicer.

It would probably take some VB if you want to change the number of columns.

Man, that seems like it would be a built in function of a slicer - adapting to new data added. Then again, you have to save some features for the next release I suppose.
