    Time chart

    hi,
I have data showing the times in which I work on my thesis.
It's basically two columns, the left one is when I start a session and the right one when i finish it.
Here is an example of a day of work:
    15:12 15:35
    15:39 16:01
    18:10 19:06
    19:12 19:41
    20:36 20:55
    21:02 21:38
    21:40 21:54
    22:34 23:23

I want to plot a chart/graph with data from all days showing at what hours I was most frequently working.
so the X axis would be time of the day (Hour), and Y axis a summation of how many days I was working on any given time.
Struggled finding a way to do this. any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Asaf

    Re: Time chart

I have the data similarly. see attachment.
But I need to make a graph out of it with Time (from 12pm to 12am) on X axis, and frequencies on Y axis.
I would love it to be continuous as well (not just one bar for 14:00, one for 15:00 etc.)

Anyone has an idea on how to plot it?

    Re: Time chart

The chart I created is not an Excel chart. It's conditionally formatted cells in extremely narrow columns.

I first determined start and end times as minutes from noon. Then I created a sumproduct formula for each minute to return one when the time was spent working, and zero when not.

I found that I did not have to hide the cell contents for the narrow cells. I debated labeling midnight as 00:00 or 24:00. I decided to go with the doesn't-actually-exist 24:00.
