Pivot not display numbers, although it is there

Hello all,

I am experiencing a problem with Pivot tables, which looks like magic to me :-)
Source of the pivot is in the different file (opened). Pivot shows no numbers (only cagegory names in rows and columns) BUT when doubleclick any cell, the new sheet with the database appears with correct number! I tried to change format, but numbers are still hidden. Any clue please?

Hi,

did you change the actual cell content or did you just change the format? Excel doesn't convert the contents of a cell from one format to another. So if if the original was TEXT and you now changed the format to a number the actual content of the cell will still be text. easy test to check is to select 3 cells in the original data and check if Excel automatically starts to sum the selection in the status bar at the bottom of the screen.
