Data Labels above bar chart

    Data Labels above bar chart

    Is there a way to have data labels above bar chart even if the data changes.

    I manually move the labels above but once the data changes I have to adjust.

    I don't see a setting for this.

    For a clustered column chart you should have the data label position of Outside End available.

    Hmm I am putting together a waterfall and I want my "down" column to always have data labels below the bar and my "up" column to have data labels above the bar.

    The only options I see are: "center", "inside end" and "inside base"

    A waterfall chart is created using a stacked column chart, which is why those positions are not available.

    You may have to use additional series plotted as line in order to better position data labels

    If the data labels are not showing the value you want then link the data labels to other cells that do contain the text you want.

    Would I be able to create the chart with the abs change (rather than cumulative total) in each category? I've attached a copy of what I had in mind.

    You can link the data labels to other cells to display anything you want.
