Excel line chart - ticks problem?

hi

i have created a line chart in excel which charts 3 different lines (percentages) over a 13 year period (one % for each month JFMAMJJASOND). When i come to make the chart, there is a display problem with the tick marks on the final month (2013) in that is is displaying divide lines which have previously been used to mark a new year. 2013 only has 11 months of data but i have done this on a previous chart which worked fine.

any ideas why this is happening at the end of the chart?

Hi jlj10,

I notice it only does that at the end when there isn't a year added to your data.

It looks like Excel puts those 'divide lines' down further when there's no year to display.

Try adding the 2014 year where it would normally go in your Year Column & see what happens.
