Pivot Tables Not Updating

Thanks for any and all help that you can offer. I really need some help!

I have this complex excel file using power query, dax formulas and the powerpivot data model.

I've added new historical data to the main transactions table and in the table everything looks right. However when I refresh the spreadsheet the slicers I have in place don't update with the new data that's been added. However when I recreate the pivot tables now that the data has been updated it all works. Is there a way to refresh the slicers and pivot tables without having to recreate them all?

I'm using a pivot table with the data stored in the data model. The data in the data model shows data dating back to 2014 that I added. However the pivot table is only showing data for 2016 that was in there before I added previous data. I shouldn't have to recreate the pivot table should I? When I do this it works but there is a lot of pivot tables I would have to recreate that would be very time consuming.
