Pivot Table - Empty cell replacement doesn't sum in grand total

    Hi,

So I created a pivot table where each observation (if found within) is given a value between 1-3. The observations that doesn't exist is thus given a null value. I used the pivot table option and replaced n/a observation by the number 4. However when I do so it doesn't sum up the grand total correctly (see picture below). Anyone got any idea of how to get a work around this?

    Cheers

    Hi,

That option is only for display purposes. You would need to create dummy entries for your missing data- a calculated field will have the same problem as the display option. I am presuming you are in fact using 2007 and do not therefore have access to Power Pivot.

    Hi,

I'm using Excel 2007 on this machine but got access to Excel 2016 at home. Would it be easy to resolve this problem in a power pivot?

    Cheers

I don't actually know how easy it would be- I just know it's impossible to do it in the pivot table without it!

Can you provide a sample workbook for testing?
