Bar chart showing time intervals for breastfeeding data

Hi,

I have an app that I have been using to record the times that I feed my baby.
I have put the data into an excel, so that I have 3 columns: date, start time and duration

I would like to plot a graph to visualise the data. I am aiming for x axis= time, y axis= date, and horizontal bars to show each feed
i.e. if I started feeding at 1pm for duration 20 mins, this would show as a filled bar starting at 1pm and finishing at 1:20pm.

Would appreciate any suggestions on how to do this, thanks!

If I understand what you describe, it sounds a lot like a Gantt chart, which is basically a specially formatted stacked bar chart: https://www.smartsheet.com/blog/gantt-chart-excel I would suggest you start there with the basics of creating such a chart.

Such an approach should work just fine with your data, you will need to move/copy some data around to match the layout in the tutorial. You will probably need to convert your duration values from minutes to days (=minutes/24/60) to get them to show up correctly on the Excel chart.
