Plot data according to time

Hi

I want to plot multiple data sets in one graph as a function of time. Each data set has been logged with a different time interval and at different times overlapping each other. If I try to plot them in the same chart, excel will simply count the number of data sets and plot them with the same spacing. But this approach cannot be used since some of my equipment logs every 40 seconds and some logs every 5 minutes. This means that one data set will consist of about 7.5 times as many points as the other within the same time.

Can excel plot my data with different spacing along the x-axis so each measurement fits correctly according to time?

Assuming your time data are true date/time serial numbers and not text that looks like time, then the easiest way to chart times on the x axis correctly is to use an XY scatter chart. Would that be an option? If you must fill underneath the series (like in your second picture), then use a technique like this: http://peltiertech.com/fill-under-be...n-excel-chart/
