Pivot Table - Dropdown Filter for Each Hierarchy Row

    Hi,

I have a pivot table with three hierarchy fields in the "Row Labels" section. I have "compact form" turned off so that each field has its own column, but a dropdown filter only appears for the first field. I require a dropdown field for each column, as seen in the reference picture below:

"Another thing", "Department", "Boss", and "Name" all have their own dropdown filters.

I've searched online and in the forums but couldn't find anything.

    Thanks

Take a look at slicers. They came along with Excel 2010. Put your cursor in the pivot table and select Insert -> Slicer from the ribbon. It doesn't take long to figure them out.
One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.

Hi dflak, fear not as I know all about slicers and use them regularly. However I would like this specific functionality which shouldn't be too difficult.

    Hi,

Did you change the report layout to Outline/Tabular form, or merely change the field settings to display subsequent fields in their own column? The former would provide a dropdown for each field, whereas the latter would not.
