    Totals differ when using a Metric in Row & Values area

    Hi Forum,

    I've been using Pivots for a fair while but I'm stuck as to the reason for this behaviour & how to change it.

    I have attached a small table of data & pivot table created from it.

    In the 'Rows' Area I have 2 fields PLUS a Metric which is also in the 'Values' Area.

    What I expected was for these 2 totals to match but they don't?

    If you look at the data in the yellow shaded area of the pivot you'll see the Totals in Column 'C' of the pivot & on the right in Column 'K' the correct totals.

    Can someone explain why this happens & is there a way for the Totals in Column 'K' (Correct totals) should all match what's in Column 'C'.

    Example the result '18' in Cell 'K17' is reflected in Column 'C' correctly.

    However, the '3' in Cell 'K15' (correct) isn't matched in Cell 'C15'?

    Thanks

    Re: Totals differ when using a Metric in Row & Values area

    Column F_Count in PT contain: 0,1,2,18 with no duplicates, say: unique values from F_count column from source table

    Total summarize these values:
    0 => one 0 => 0 = 0
    1 => three 1 => 1+1+1 = 3
    2 => two 2 => 2+2 = 4
    18 => one 18 => 18 = 18

    Row area is not calculated area
    Column area is not calculated area
    Value is calculated area

    If all values in column F_count in source table will be different (no duplicates), eg, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 both columns in PT: F_count and Total will be the same

    PT is not for matching anything (usual ). This is for statistic, summarize, counting and some more.

    eg. how many devils will fit at the end of the pin
